Teaching
The Chair of Banking and Finance offers lectures and seminars both on undergraduate and graduate level with a focus on bank management, capital market theory and corporate finance as well as risk management. It aims to provide students with a theoretically sound and at the same time application-orientated education. Teaching In particular, assumptions and shortcomings of widely used risk pricing models and risk measurement approaches are identified and discussed. This knowledge should enable graduates to meaningfully use and improve their methodological skills.
Tutorials (partly computer-based) accompany each lecture so that students can practice and deepen their knowledge of the presented topics.
Besides lectures and tutorials, literature seminars and project seminars are offered. In addition, Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis colloquia take place on a regular basis where students whose theses are currently in progress can present their preliminary results. Hereby, students are offered constructive feedback in order to increase the quality of their work. Thesis
