Research
The major research activities of the Chair of Banking and Finance are on bank regulation, risk management, systemic risk and digital finance innovations. We aim to give academic answers to questions of practical relevance. Hence, our work is published both in international peer-reviewed journals (such as European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Risk, Journal of Risk Model Validation, Review of Derivative Research, OR Spectrum) and application-oriented journals (such as Zeitschrift für das gesamte Kreditwesen, Finanzierung Leasing Factoring). Research In addition, we present our research results regularly on international conferences as well as directly in practice.
Besides, we wish to impart knowledge on recent academic trends in the field of banking and finance right during the whole study curriculum. Therefore, we also publish articles in journals with a focus on university education (such as WISU – Das Wirtschaftsstudium, WiSt – Wirtschaftswissenschaftliches Studium).
Members of the team of the Chair of Banking and Finance also regularly attend PhD-seminars which are realized in cooperation with several banking and/or finance chairs of different universities in the northern part of Germany. These PhD-seminars are supported by the HypoVereinsbank-UniCredit Group-Stiftungsfond. They aim to facilitate communication and exchange between PhD-students and between PhD-students and professors working in the area of banking and finance from the early beginning of their research activities.
