Profile of Subject Group
Welcome to the homepage of the microeconomics subject group in Economics Faculty at the University of Osnabrück. In these pages you will find information about our teaching and research.
The VWL/Micro subject group are responsible for teaching core modules in microeconomic theory and information economics. Elective courses are also offered in topics relating to our research interests. These include behavioural economics, experimental economics, individual decision-making under risk and strategic interaction in games.
The research interests of the subject group are in experimental and theoretical approaches to the study of economic decision-making. Our approach is behavioural and so our research investigates whether insights from psychology help the understanding of economic behaviour. Members of the subject group publish their work in leading international refereed journals including, inter alia, Economic Journal, Economics Letters, European Economic Review, Journal of African Economies, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Risk and Uncertainty and Theory and Decision.
