Con M3: Behavioral Management Accounting

Classification

  • Course for Master-Students, taught by Prof. Gillenkirch
  • It is a course of the doctoral program GPAR: www.wiwi.uni-osnabrueck.de/fachgebiete_und_institute/controlling_prof_gillenkirch/gpar.html
    The course will be open to interested and high-performing Master-Students. Due to the intensive course character of the event, only a few places can be offered.
  • Passing the exam will give Master-Students 5 credit points (ECTS) for the Module WIWI‐M‐23004‐AC Con M3: Behavioral Management Accounting
  • The course will take place on three consecutive days after the regular semester weeks.

Prerequisite for participation

  • Interested Master-Students apply for participation at the chair of Prof. Gillenkirch
  • Applications can only be submitted by e-mail. E-Mails should be sent to: robert.gillenkirch@uni-osnabrueck.de
  • Compulsory components of the application are a short cover letter (= the e-mail itself) and a current performance record from the OPIUM system (= attachment to the e-mail)
  • The application deadline and further details on registration will be announced on time. Please have a look at the current announcements on the homepage of the chair and in StudIP.

Contents

  • Introduction to Experimental Research in Accounting (joint event with doctoral students, 1 day)
  • Discussing Experimental Accounting Research Papers (joint event with doctoral students, 1 day)
  • Colloquium for Master-Students (1 day)
  • The time scale corresponds to 3 full seminar days, i.e. approx. 2 SWS

Examination

  • The exam has two parts:
    (1)  Preparation of a discussion paper of a scientific paper in the fielf of Behavioral Management Accounting (individual performance)
    (2) Development of an experimental design for investigating a research question in the field of Behavioral Management Accounting (group or individual performance)
  • Both performances are graded. The total grade is the average of the two grades.

Materials

  • For the first day of the event a set of slides will be made available.
  • For the second day of the event a literature list will be made available.
