MSc Economics
Master's program in Economics is a full-time study program which has a length of four semester and comprises modules which sum to 120 ECTS. Since winter semester 2022/2023, this program is offered in English (German language skills are not compulsory). During the course of your studies you can choose a specialization in Empirical Economics or in Sustainability, Behavior and Environmental Policy.
You will be taught a wide range of empirical and application-oriented methods in economics. You will mainly focus on courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics, international economic policy, public economics and environmental economics.

Special admission requirements for our Master's program in Economics are defined in the current admission regulations (in German). Among other things, the following conditions must be met:
- Your Bachelor's degree is relevant for the subject of Economics according to the admission regulations.
A Bachelor's degree program is relevant if it contains modules/courses amounting to at least
a) 15 ECTS credit points in mathematics, statistics or econometrics, of which at least eight ECTS credit points in statistics or econometrics, and
b) 25 ECTS credit points in the field of economics. - English language skills must be at the level specified in the admission regulations. Please take a closer look at the admission regulations, in particular § 4. In addition, the Master's selection committee accepts proof of English language proficiency in the form of successfully completed school English. Level B2/C1 is often explicitly stated on the school leaving certificate (i. e. A-level certificate or high school diploma).
- The applicant must not have definitively failed a comparable examination in a comparable subject area without the option of retaking the examination, and not have lost their entitlement to take the examination.
- The applicant must not have already completed a comparable degree program in a comparable subject area.
