11. July 2024 : Marieke Baaken at the EAERE 2024 Conference in Leuven, Belgium

The 29th Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) was held from 1 to 4 July, 2024 in Leuven, Belgium. About 700 participants from academic institutions, the public sector, and the private industry joined the conference.

This year, the Conference Committee received an all-time record of more than 1,500 submissions, and thus the acceptance rate was lower than usual. A rich subset of high-quality sessions was presented, partly as hybrid events, as part of the program (e.g., plenary lectures, policy Sessions, thematic Sessions and parallel sessions). Marieke Baaken represented the Department of Environmental Economics within the parallel session “Agriculture II” presenting the manuscript “Sustainable agriculture discourses in Germany: a comparative analysis of large-scale text data” co-authored by Bartosz Bartkowski, Mansi Nagpal, Jan Sodoge and Mariana Madruga de Brito.
