Prof. Dr. Stefanie Engel gives keynote lecture at the conference „Zukunft gestalten mit transformativer Bildung – gemeinsam für BNE in Niedersachsen“

On February 13, 2023, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Engel gave a keynote lecture at the conference "Shaping the future with transformative education - together for ESD in Lower Saxony" at the Loccum Monastery.

At the conference, which was held in cooperation with the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education, stakeholders in education for sustainable development (ESD) in Lower Saxony took an update of their educational practices in and out of school.
The question was which resources, strategies, pedagogical and educational policy departures are needed for effective transformative education.
Prof. Dr. Stefanie Engel's presentation titled 'How to motivate climate-friendly behavior?" was one of two keynote talks to kick off the conference.
In her talk, she gave an overview of key barriers to climate-friendly action and approaches to overcoming these barriers. She also addressed the role of schools.
